Almost Real
 

A new day is dawning as she opens her eyes
New hopes for her life seen in the sunrise
Stretching and yawning she slowly awakes
The chains that bind her she anxiously breaks

Does she dare to try on this day to be real?
To open her heart, to finally feel?
His words like a song flow thru her mind
She pauses to listen forgetting the time

Oh how they soothe her his words of love
Warming her heart like the sun up above
This feeling of love, almost too much to bear
His voice the poetry she longs to hear

Coaxing her to places where real life is lived
Where love is a gift that real people give
As the ice of her heart begins melting away
She releases herself to live in this day

She reaches for him and takes in his breath
His arms caress her, no fear is left
They walk together, this day that they share
Alive in the moment, a true love so rare

He kisses her lips, the kiss oh so tender
This moment is frozen, to always be remembered
And in this moment their souls join together,
Their hearts become one, each others forever

Their story is written in the heavens above
One heart, one soul, eternally in love
The sun begins to set, birds sing their last song
She reaches for him, but he has gone

Cold winds blow her heart, the ice reforms
Cold and alone, she faces the storm
Their time is over, this she must face
As from his memory she is slowly erased

Back in her solitude is where she must stay
As she waits and hopes for yet another day
Remembering the moments, how he made her feel
The day he came and she was almost real
